Insights On Insurance publishes plain-English guides to what healthcare costs in the United States, written for people who are paying out of pocket.
Most guides answer one question, such as how much a root canal or an urgent care visit costs without insurance. Each one gives a typical price range, explains what pushes the price up or down, and points to cheaper ways to get the same care.
Who writes the guides
The site is run by a small team of writers. We don’t earn commissions from providers or insurers.
How we keep guides accurate
Prices in our guides are ranges, because the same treatment can cost very different amounts from one provider or city to the next. We update a guide when prices or rules change, and every guide shows the date of its last update. Our editorial policy explains how we handle prices, corrections and advertising.
Advertising
We may show display ads, including ads from Google, to pay for running the site. Advertisers have no say in what we write.
